The latest firmware patch has been released for the Synology NAS units. Disk Station Manager (DSM) 2.3 updates the following modules:

– Surveillance Station 4,
– Photo Station 4,
– File Station 3,
– Audio Station 2,
– iTunes^® Server,
– Download Station 2

Highlights include support to backup directly to Amazon S3, as well as the usual rsync and local backup options, impproved mobile iphone support, Synology Hybrid RAID (SHR) which allows you to mix HDD’s of varying sizes. More details can be found on the official site:
