In no particular order, my top 10 freeware utilities which make my digital life easier are:

1. Teracopy – TeraCopy is a compact program designed to copy and move files at the maximum possible speed, provides error recovery, pause and resume, shell integration.
2. SyncToy – SyncToy, a free PowerToy from Microsoft, is an easy to use, highly customizable program that helps users to do the heavy lifting involved with the copying, moving, and synchronization of different directories. Most common operations can be performed with just a few clicks of the mouse. SyncToy can manage multiple sets of folders at the same time; it can combine files from two folders in one case, and mimic renames and deletes in another case.
3. CCleaner – CCleaner is a freeware system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. It removes unused files from your system – allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. Additionally it contains a fully featured registry cleaner.
4. Dropbox – Dropbox is a free to use web service which enables you to access your files from anywhere, it’s a robust and secure backup, file sync and sharing web service compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux and Mobile* platforms. Read my full review here.
5. Spotify – Music is everywhere. Any track you like, any time you like. Just search for it in Spotify, then play it. Any artist, any album, any genre – all available instantly. With Spotify, there are no limits to the amount of music you can listen to. Just help yourself to whatever you want, whenever you want it.
6. Firefox – Firefox requires little introduction, my personal internet browser of choice. Fast, secure and customisable.
7. CDBurnerXP – CDBurnerXP is a free application to burn CDs and DVDs, including Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs. It also includes the feature to burn and create ISOs, as well as a multilanguage interface. Everyone, even companies, can use it for free.
8. Filezilla – FileZilla Client is a fast and reliable cross-platform FTP, FTPS and SFTP client with lots of useful features and an intuitive graphical user interface.
9. Paint.NET – Paint.NET is free image and photo editing software for computers that run Windows. It features an intuitive and innovative user interface with support for layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools.
10. Microsoft Security Essentials – Microsoft Security Essentials is a free download which provides real-time protection for your home PC that guards against viruses, spyware, and other malicious software.
